perfect for pollinators
Dianthus cruentus is really, pretty small Pink, a member of the carnation family, whose blooms last for such a long time. Fully hardy, it has tall, upright flower stems on which clusters of pink-red flowers appear in late spring and summer, and contrasts beautifully with its blue-green, evergreen foliage. Full size is 60 cm tall and 15 cm wide. Easy to grow, it is also very attractive to bees and butterflies.
For best results grow in moist but well-drained, neutral to alkaline soil, in full sun. It's perfect for growing in rockeries, at the front of borders, and in containers. Lightly cut back plants after flowering to promote new growth, and prune again in spring to maintain a neat shape. Make sure the plants are not exposed to extremely wet conditions in winter as they will rot away. Looks fabulous with Sedum!
Pot size: 1 Litre
