perfect for pollinators

Also known as Marsh Afrikaner this cormus perennial has beautiful creamy white flowers that are flushed with green and pale yellow.  The flowers are about 6-8cm in diameter and have a sweet fragrance and are borne on willowy wirey stems.
Flowers start to open progressively in spring and their sweet scent can be noticed in the evening so be sure to plant this lovely plant where you can smell it!

The scent has been described as almost carnation like with a bit of a mix between clove and almonds with others saying it is almost honeysuckle like.

These plants will go dormant in summer and they will easily spread by seed or their little cormlets.  It makes an excellent cut flower and it is very easily grown and will multiply readily.

To maximise this lovely plants flowering potential plant it in a full sun position in a well drained soil as it will of course go dormant in summer so you do not want the corms sitting in a poorly drained position.  This lovely plant is also an excellent candidate for a pot, gorgeous in a cottage garden as well as quite at home in a rock garden.

Drought tolerant once established and is also happy in most soils including sandy with drainage being the key.

Please note this plant is toxic to dogs, cats and horses.

Height of stems: 60-90cm

Plant size PB 2 : Equivalent 1.2 litres

Please note this is a plant and is not sold as a corm
