Malva moschata f. alba also known as a White Musk Mallow is a very pretty perennial with musk scented white bowl shaped flowers that are about 6cm in diameter. Flowering starts from early summer and here in Drury, we have even had it flowering into mid winter when the winters are mild.
The attractive deeply divided foliage provides a flattering backdrop for the ice white flowers. If you are creating a cottage garden or wildflower garden then this plant is a must. Removing spent flowers will encourage continued blooming.
Ours self sow as they obviously like their spot in the garden and we don't mind that at all as you can easily pop a few more of this lovely plant into other areas of your garden. They can suffer from a bit of rust which you can see on the leaves in the first picture, but we can cope as often they are hidden amongst other plants with their beautiful pure white flowers peeping through.
Plants will perform to their optimum in a full sun position in average well drained soil.
