Lavandula dentata, commonly known as French lavender or fringed lavender, is a distinctive lavender species recognized for its unique foliage and extended flowering period. Unlike other lavenders, L. dentata has finely toothed, gray-green leaves that give the plant a textured appearance. It produces long, slender flower spikes topped with pale lavender-blue flowers that bloom almost year-round in warm climates. This lavender variety has a more open, shrubby growth habit and is known for its tolerance of heat and humidity, making it well-suited for warmer regions. The foliage and flowers are highly fragrant. Lavandula dentata is a great choice for hedges, borders, or container planting, adding both beauty and fragrance to the garden. It thrives in full sun and well-drained soil. Grows to 60cm-90cm tall and wide.
