Malva moschata | Marshmallow
Also known as Musk Mallow, Malva moschata is an upright easy to grow branching perennial that has the softest marshmallow pale pink saucer shaped flowers that are musk scented and approximately 6cm wide.
The foliage is also musk scented when crushed or if you brush up against it. A very pretty plant that is loved by butterflies bees and many other pollinators. A perfect choice for a wildflower garden and of course the cottage garden. Remove spent flowers to encourage continued flowering which occurs early summer and into autumn. Plants can get a bit of rust, but we can cope with this as they are often hidden amongst other plants with just their beautiful flowers peeping out - you can see a bit of rust on the leaves of my photo but it is not really very bad at all.
Plants perform best in a full sun position in medium moisture, well drained soils. Will also self sow if happy. Happy in most soil types but does like good drainage.
