Pulmonaria | Sissinghurst White
Also known as Lungwort which is a most unfortunate name for this reliable spring flowering perennial. Sissinghurst White has beautiful white speckled foliage and is a perfect choice for a shaded position to light it up a shady area. It will cope with some sun but its preferred growing conditions are shade in a moist but well-drained spot in the garden.
After flowering remove any old tatty leaves and be sure to split it if the plant has grown too big which will ensure that it retains its vigour and produces lots of flowers. Plants can be split in late summer or early autumn or after flowering. Each new plant should retain several leaves and a portion of the roots to ensure that it will easily take. A great addition to the front of the border as it flowers and flowers all through Spring, we have even had the plant flowering in early Winter.
This lovely little plant is not often seen these days.
