Verbascum phoeniceum | Flush of White
Verbascum Flush of White adds a touch of pure white elegance to your garden. Verbascum's give you the spires and candelabras of a garden – the tall, vertical, and often branched scale, which brings airiness into any plant combination.
Verbascum's are a wonderful plant as they don't take up a lot of room in the garden but produce masses of flowers without taking up lots of space on the ground. Their vertical flower spikes help any border work visually by leading the eye upwards.
Incredibly easy to grow, Verbascum are hardy and will cope with very low temperatures down minus 18°C! They are tolerant of most soil types and conditions, from wet clay through to dry sand, and grow well in both sun or shade.
Verbascum don't last well as cut flowers so they are best left in the garden, although they can look pretty added to a bouquet even though their flowers maybe fleeting and we do use them in this way. They bloom throughout the summer, with a few sporadic flowers into autumn. They are an excellent choice for the sunny border, cottage-style plantings and gravel gardens. A favourite of bees.
