Many fuchsias are half hardy (tender) types, used as bedding in pots or borders for summer and autumn displays. Bush types have an upright habit that makes them useful for pots and borders. Fuchsia Lottie Hobby is one of these. She is a miniature fuchsia with cute little dark pink tubular trumpets, and was bred in the UK in 1839 and has won the prestigious RSH Award of Garden Merit.
Fuchsia plants prefer free-draining soil that is not too wet or too dry. They're not keen on strong winds either, as it burns their leaves and discolours their blooms.
Fuchsia plants prefer a shady spot and should be kept out of direct sunlight. The ideal temperature should be below 24°C and out of direct sunlight, also to prevent burnt leaves and blooms.
