Helleborus English Thoroughbred series. Heralding the end of Winter and amongst the first plants to flower from mid-winter to mid spring, these darling perennials with their nodding blooms come in a mixed range of colours from greens, pinks, slatey purples, crimsons and whites. Many have delicate little spots along the petals adding extra texture to the blooms. The Thoroughbred Series have thicker, rounder petals on longer stems, which makes them just fabulous for cutting. Their seed heads are just as pretty. A tip when cutting hellebores for the vase is to cut their stems under iced water so they stay turgid (full of water) and last longer. I've had mine last over a week doing this. Because their heads nod, it's a good idea to display them a little higher than you usually would to enjoy them the most. These are the first flowers we bring in from the garden of the new season, and we love them so much here at Addenbrooke! Note, when ordering these it is potluck at to the colours you receive.

Grows to 30cm tall and wide. They prefer shade in warmer areas but do ok with morning sun. We find them best planted under deciduous trees with lots of leaf fall and compost, and they don't like to dry out. cut back untidy leaves in the autumn and they'll come away beautifully in spring. Gorgeous little charmers!
