Primula vulgaris
A harbinger of spring, Primula vulgaris is the native primrose found in the wild in many areas of the UK. These charming informal plants will slowly clump and enjoy moist soil in part shade or light woodland garden conditions. They are adorned with a deep yellow heart and flower from late winter into mid spring. Perfect for naturalising.
A recipient of the RHS Award of Garden Merit as well as an RHS Perfect for Pollinators award this is a must-have plant for a cottage garden. Pretty tucked in anywhere in the garden. The sweet Primrose yellow flowers look so pretty in a bud vase and are a true indicator that Spring has arrived. Easily split to give you more plants and clumps should be divided when they become congested to ensure that flowering potential is maximised. Lightly scented.
