and giving blooms
Spanish Broom & Scotch Broom
These two deciduous broom varieties are hardy, drought-tolerant shrubs, well-suited to poor, sandy, or well-drained soils in full sun. Both are ideal for low-maintenance planting schemes, erosion control, and adding seasonal interest to borders, slopes, or naturalistic gardens.
Both varieties are nitrogen-fixing, helping to improve soil structure over time, and are generally pest- and disease-resistant.
Addenbrooke Garden is open all year round for Garden Tours by appointment. Guests can also select to enjoy Devonshire tea in our beautiful grounds.
